About the Campaign Associate position:

The Campaign Associate will assist the campaign team in the overall planning and execution of the annual Campaign for Jewish Needs. This position will focus on donor stewardship as well as community outreach and engagement.

In addition, the Campaign Associate will work as part of the Women in Philanthropy team (WinP), a group within our Campaign focused on engaging women in our community through philanthropy, programming, and leadership development.

This position is full time and reports to the Director, Women in Philanthropy and the Senior Director, Campaign.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Serve as key member of the Campaign Management Team providing vision, strategy, and new approaches for year-round stewardship of Campaign for Jewish Needs donors and potential donors.
  2. Help execute stewardship best practices by assisting development officers in their outreach and engagement. This may include highlighting articles to send, developing unique donor recognition opportunities, or operationalizing new innovative strategies.
  3. Work with Campaign divisions and affinity groups to develop strategies for finding new Campaign donors by utilizing innovate networking ideas.
  4. Develop new and innovative stewardship methods that highlight the impact of Federation’s work and how it reaches the entire community.
  5. In partnership with Campaign team, assist in execution for key Campaign events including, but not limited to, Super Sunday Kickoff, Community Outreach Hours, and Campaign Close.
  6. Develop and execute a new Campaign synagogue engagement strategy, aimed at increasing our partnership, cultivation and stewardship of new donors from our community synagogues.
  7. Coordinate Campaign lists for solicitations, while working to determine most strategic solicitors and networks.
  8. Work with Campaign team and Development Officers to create best practices for new donor acknowledgement and recognition.
  9. Responsible for a portfolio of Women in Philanthropy (WinP) events, activities, and projects.
  10. Oversee planning and execution of WinP Awards including serving as liaison with award families, soliciting nominations, and publication of award materials.
  11. Serve as lead staff member for the WinP Impact365 Giving Society, working with the WinP Director to identify strategic engagement opportunities that steward donors and increase their Federation participation.
  12. Participate as a member of the WinP Campaign Team.
  13. Manage a team of volunteer Campaigners (solicitors), acting as their liaison for the Campaign for Jewish Needs providing relevant updates, information, and motivation to complete their solicitations.
  14. Solicit assigned prospects and identify new individuals with potential to give.
  15. Serve as development officer for a portfolio of donors, responsible for cultivation and stewardship.

  8. Commitment and passion for soliciting and raising funds to meet the growing needs of the community.
  9. Creative problem-solving skills and focus on being solution oriented.
  10. Excels at operating independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  11. Ability to meet deadlines and keep tasks moving at expected pace.
  12. Experience and comfort with CRM systems, data analytic tools, and Microsoft Office.
  13. Working knowledge of and/or experience with the Jewish community, culture, and tradition.
Education, Training and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience
