114th Annual Meeting: Israel at 70 Celebration Continues
- Share This Story
Last night, more than 400 community members came together at Fuchs Mizrachi School to celebrate 114 years of community and 70 years of Israel's independence at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland's Annual Meeting.
It was a privilege to welcome our featured speaker Ambassador Dani Dayan, Consul General of Israel in New York. Ambassador Dayan shared his insight on the ever-evolving state of Israel and the Jewish people, and Cleveland's role in ensuring a Jewish future. He said, "I want to thank you, the Cleveland Jewish community. You understand the meaning of full Jewish life simultaneously here in America and in the State of Israel. And for that, I am extremely grateful."
Mazel Tov, S. Lee Kohrman, recipient of the 2018 Charles Eisenman Award for exceptional civic contributions. Lee's decades of devotion to serving underserved communities in Jewish Cleveland, our general community, and around the world garnered a standing ovation from the crowd last night. Watch a video of his accomplishments below.
Special thanks to Gary L. Gross, Board Chair, and Dara and Alan Yanowitz, Event Chairs. And, thank you to all of our guests for joining us for an inspirational evening!
