The Jewish Federation of Cleveland is now seeking participants ages 50 and over for “Volunteer Beit Shean,” a hands-on volunteer experience to Beit Shean, Cleveland’s sister city in Israel. The city is known for its world-class hiking trails, beautiful natural springs, amazing bird watching, and spectacular ancient ruins. Volunteers will immerse themselves in Israeli culture while improving the lives of others.

She was volunteering through Masa Israel, a post-college service program, part of I-Connect, an initiative of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland. The Vilensky family of Solon is passionate about volunteering in Jewish Cleveland. Imagine, a woman in her 20s responsible for delinquent male soldiers. These soldiers grew up with no support system, a criminal background or lived in a foster home. The female commanders at Havat HaShomer are in charge of shaping these young delinquents into the best soldier they can be - to get them up to an acceptable level for entry to the army.
