Building on a Strong Foundation

My Federation Story
by Adena Klineman
I’ve always been involved in the Jewish community. I believe the strength of the community lies in our commitment to one another and willingness to give of our time, talents and resources. This past year, I was inspired to become a Lion of Judah.* I credit Danielle Wild for encouraging me to take a more active role in Women’s Philanthropy. We are a strong womanhood and can band together to effect change.
I am currently the Vice President of Green Road Synagogue. I appreciate the opportunity to play a major role in leading the future of the organization. I think about the message it sends to our daughters and sons to see a woman in the Orthodox world in this position. I know I have the strength of the Federation and the Cleveland community behind me.
That strength is also why I am a Lion of Judah. The symbolism of Judah means a great deal. Judah stepped forward to take action and responsibility for his family. The Federation and Lions of Judah are family, helping to take care of the entire Jewish community. I believe in the mission of the Federation and appreciate the strong foundation they provide our community. I am proud to do my part to help strengthen the infrastructure of the community as a whole.
*Lion of Judah are women who make an individual gift of $5,000 or more to the annual Campaign for Jewish Needs.
