Lag B'Omer is just around the corner--after you read a PJ book to learn about this holiday, why not celebrate with a barbecue, backyard bonfire, and of course, s'mores!

Classic S'mores

Everyone knows the recipe for a classic s'more: graham crackers, marshmallow, and chocolate. You can roast your marshmallows over a campfire, toast them on the grill, pop them in the microwave when it's rainy, or get scientific by making a solar cooker like Maya does in the video below:

You can make this perfectly crusted confection on your grill to wrap up your Lag B'Omer barbecue. While grownups should handle the grilling, kids can easily help with pre-prep and assembling these ooey gooey sandwiches.

Mini S'mores Pie

An easy treat to make in bulk or ahead of time. If you're hosting a get-together with other PJ Library families, whip up a batch of these. View the recipe here.

If your bubbe ever made an icebox cake in the summer, this super quick and easy make-ahead recipe will be very familiar. Since this is a no-cook recipe, little hands can help with many of the steps, from mixing to using a vegetable peeler to create chocolate shavings.
