The Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Young Leadership Division and JCLE are returning to the east side to kick off the summer with the Summer Soirée.
The event, which runs from 7 to 11 p.m. June 20, will be at Acacia Reservation in Lyndhurst.
Kara Rosen, a chair of the event, said the event can serve as a way for people to reconnect with old friends and make new ones, of which Rosen is proof of.
Rosen and her husband moved back to Cleveland last year after living in Chicago. The Summer Soirée was the first event they went to after returning and were able to talk with people they used to know.
“It was just an amazing way to reconnect with people we grew up with,” she said.
This year’s event will have an open bar, hors d’oeuvres and music. Attendees can purchase raffle tickets to win packages from local businesses. In a new approach this year, attendees who bring a friend who hasn’t been to the soirée before will receive one free raffle ticket.
“We just wanted to try and get new people involved in YLD and learn more about what we’re doing. And we thought that was a great way to incentivize people to reach out to friends who haven’t been to the event before,” Rosen said.
A reception for the Ben-Gurion Society, which recognizes donors who contributed $1,000 or more to the Campaign for Jewish Needs, will be held before the soirée.
The event is open to those 21 and older.
