CLEVELAND, Ohio – "Violins of Hope" is about to get even more interesting. In addition to the ongoing exhibition and concerts that have taken place so far, the project is about to include an appearance by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, with its longtime director, Zubin Mehta.

Imagine what Robert Zelwin felt when he saw his relatives in a black-and-white photograph from April 1948 showing a group of former members of the Bielski Brigade in a displaced persons camp in Germany.

CLEVELAND – The Jewish Federation of Cleveland announces the opening of “Israel: Land & Identity,” an exhibit featuring the artworks from the Levin Collection in Jerusalem. All are invited to meet curator Emma Gashinsky at an Open House on Sunday, November 22 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. in the Roe Green Gallery at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Building (25701 Science Park Drive in Cleveland). Curator Talks will be at 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

In just two short days, over 300 people have crowded into the intimate Roe Green Gallery at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland's Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Building to see the opening of "Amnon's Workshop"; a photographic documentary featuring the work of celebrated Cleveland photographer, Daniel Levin, M.F.A.

It has been said that the sound of the violin resembles that of the human voice. The proximity will come clear both actually and symbolically on Sept. 27, when violins of singular provenance, played by musicians of singular prominence, star at Silver Hall.
