Imagining a General Assembly for 2020 involved some reimagining as the location shifted from Chicago to a virtual platform for the Jewish Federations of North America.

In its first virtual Super Sunday, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland raised $979,315 from 900 gifts for its Campaign for Jewish Needs on Oct. 18.

Small groups and individuals approached the Kol Israel Foundation Memorial at Mount Zion Cemetery in Bedford Heights on Sept. 27 for the 19th annual Fall Memorial, taking turns paying respect to their ancestors who were victims of the Holocaust.

Planned giving is something older adults tend to participate in – whether through an estate plan or annual funds. However, many organizations find themselves in need of targeting new and younger donors.

More than 300 participants gathered for the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s 2021 launch event Aug. 27.

“As Americans, we have fought for that right throughout our history,” moderator Bradley J. Schlang, government relations chair at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland in Beachwood, said during an Aug. 12 voting rights panel hosted on Zoom.

Whether returning to school virtually or in-person, experts from Bellefaire JCB and Senders Pediatrics through a webinar Aug. 18, provided parents with advice to help their children adjust to the new school year amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bradley A. Sherman said he knew becoming the chair of the 2021 and 2022 Jewish Federation of Cleveland Campaigns for Jewish Needs would pose challenges – but when he learned of the toll of the COVID-19 pandemic, he became overwhelmed.

As our nation continues to manage its way through the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland strongly believes no Ohioan should have to choose between their health and exercising their right to vote this November.

While COVID-19 was causing plenty of damage felt in the present, it was also leaving a trail of destruction stretching into years forward.
