She was volunteering through Masa Israel, a post-college service program, part of I-Connect, an initiative of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland. Imagine, a woman in her 20s responsible for delinquent male soldiers. These soldiers grew up with no support system, a criminal background or lived in a foster home. The female commanders at Havat HaShomer are in charge of shaping these young delinquents into the best soldier they can be - to get them up to an acceptable level for entry to the army.

Hi everyone! You probably know my name from writing for the Cleveland Jewish News as a Staff Reporter. What I’m working on now is a little different, because I’m about to go on a Birthright Israel trip.

It’s exciting to make a new professional connection. I’m always intrigued when I receive a LinkedIn notification from a new person who wants to connect with me.
