We hope to see you at our April events! This month, community members can remember the Holocaust and heroism with a meaningful commemoration, celebrate the lively Moroccan custom of Mimouna, reflect on the legacy of Israel's fallen soldiers and victims of terror at Yom Hazikaron, and more.

April 8
Passover Through the Eyes of Shlomo Katz

Join us for “Passover Through the Eyes of Shlomo Katz” with Rabbi Pinchas L. Landis, director, Partners in Torah Cleveland. Rabbi Landis will explore the Passover story using Shlomo Katz’s portfolio as a guide. Created in 1982, the portfolio includes ten lavishly colored illustrations with deep, rich, bright golden backgrounds with colorful figures and scenery in brilliant colors that emit a three-dimensional depth. Beginning with “The Seder” and concluding with “Next Year in Jerusalem,” Katz’s Passover Portfolio beautifully illustrates the stories we have shared for generations.

Yom Hashoah V'Havgurah

Join our community for Yom Hashoah V’Hagvurah, a commemoration of the Holocaust and heroism. This year’s theme is “Then and Now.” We will honor this theme by having multigenerational members of Survivors' families – from Survivor to children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren – tell their story during the program. Sean Martin, associate curator for Jewish History at Western Reserve Historical Society, will give remarks on connecting the past trauma of the Shoah to the current rise in antisemitism seen today.

Join the YLD community and a visiting IDF delegation to walk, run, jog, or bike to honor the heroes we've lost. Each participant will receive a Ratzim Lezichram t-shirt and a bib that displays the name of the individual they are honoring. They will also receive a biography about the person they’re representing prior to the event.
