Jewish Federation Teaches Children the Value of Giving at Young Families Tzedakah Party
Families are invited to celebrate giving at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland and PJ Library® Young Families Tzedakah Party on Sunday, December 4 from 9:30 to 11:30 am at the Federation’s Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Building (25701 Science Park Drive, Beachwood). This free event is ideal for families with children 5 and under. Older siblings and grandparents are also welcome to join the fun.
"The Tzedakah party is a wonderful family event that teaches young children the importance of philanthropy. They are able to participate in hands-on activities that help them comprehend the significance of giving back. It is an amazing opportunity to be able to instill this Jewish value,” said Ali Schwartz, PJ Library Engagement Ambassador for the Federation.
The Tzedakah Party celebrates children’s ability to contribute to their community. Giving tzedakah (charity) is a traditional Jewish value, and children are encouraged to bring in their own piggy banks and unwrapped toy donations to the event. All donations will support the 2017 Campaign for Jewish Needs, the annual fundraising campaign that ensures our community’s vitality and vibrancy in the year ahead. Every gift counts!
In addition, families will enjoy fun tzedakah activities like arts and crafts, PJ Library® story time, kid-friendly snacks (kosher dietary laws observed), family photoshoot, learning about the Campaign for Jewish Needs, music, and more.
