JVN Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities

The Federation provides meaningful direct service volunteer opportunities for the Jewish community to engage in the work of repairing the world – tikkun olam.

Community-Wide Cemetery Preservation Project
Sunday, October 3, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery
3740 Ridge Road, Cleveland, 44144 (rain or shine)

We need YOU to volunteer for this family-friendly mitzvah! Weed, rake, prune, inventory and beautify the grounds. Please bring: clippers, gloves, knee pads, hedgers, rakes, wheelbarrows, wagons, garbage bags, sunscreen and hats. For more information, e-mail jreed@jcfcleve.org or call 216.593.2900, ext. 227.

Help Promote Israeli Products Sold in Cleveland

JVN is looking for a volunteer to collate a list of Israeli-made products that are sold in Cleveland to promote to the community. Work needs to be done at the Federation's Mandel Building. Deliver holiday food packages to homebound seniors

Organize a food drive (kosher and non-kosher food) to be donated to a local food pantry or foodbank
Environmental
Help with upkeep of community gardens

Help plan the annual community clean up at the Hebrew Cultural Garden

Plant a garden at a group home and maintain it

Start a recycling program at your synagogue or school

Work on an environmental newsletter

Introduce the natural environment to students through hiking and related activities

Assist with a community-supported agricultural organization
