About the Israel Through Different Lenses series
Through this lecture series, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland will bring speakers to the community that will provide insight into a wide-range of issues facing Israel today.
Ibrahim Eid Dalalsha is one of the leading analysts of Palestinian politics in the region. Prior to founding the Horizon Center, he served for two decades as the Senior Political Advisor at the US Consulate General in Jerusalem, advising US officials on the Peace Process; Palestinian politics, state development, and civil society; as well as extremist movements. Dalalsha has an unparalleled network of contacts and holds close working relationships with key Palestinians officials, Civil Society leaders and political activists across the spectrum.
Throughout his career in the US government, Dalalsha was named three times the State Department’s Foreign Service National of the Year for outstanding political analysis and reporting and extraordinary networking and outreach. Dalalsha played an integral role in peace negotiations across the Middle East, including the ceasefire negotiations held in 2014 Cairo, Secretary Kerry’s Peace Initiative in 2013-2014, President Bush’s Annapolis Peace Conference in 2009. Prior to joining the US State Department, he worked as an officer with the United Nations Refugee and Works Agency from 1992-1998 and as as a program officer for the National Democratic Institute.
At the Horizon Center, Dalalsha drafts political, legal, security and economic studies and other topics related to the Israeli -Palestinian conflict. He also oversees the Center’s daily publication of its political update which highlights major political, security and domestic dynamics. In addition, Dalalsha leads the Horizon Center’s civic engagement initiatives in partnership with local and international partners to promote good governance, culture of tolerance and promotion of two state solution.
