To remind the Greater Cleveland community that there are more than 120 innocent people still being held hostage by Hamas, the Federation is now running ads on Bally Sports Cleveland during the first round of the Cleveland Cavaliers playoffs and throughout the Cleveland Guardians regular season.

Erika B. Rudin-Luria, president of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, was named the board chair of JPro, a professional development organization for individuals in the Jewish nonprofit sector.

The Jewish community will gather May 23 for the 120th annual meeting of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland to reflect on the work of the past year and look to the future.

35 Jewish high school juniors and seniors from public and private high schools across Cleveland have come together to recommend grants totaling $45,000 to 16 organizations for crucial programs in the Jewish and general community through the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s 2023-2024 Maurice Saltzman Youth Panel.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland announced that Judge Dan A. Polster is the 2023 recipient of the Gries Family Award in recognition of his lasting impact in Cleveland’s Jewish and general communities. For more than 25 years, the Gries Family Award has honored individuals who have demonstrated extensive top leadership in Federation and other local Jewish organization activities, as well as significant leadership in Greater Cleveland’s general community. Polster, a senior judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, was presented the award at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland Board of Trustees meeting on May 9.

Recently, jHUB has launched two new initiatives to address the growing demand for different opportunities for preteens to experience Jewish traditions and culture - the B-Mitzvah Experience and the Hebrew Club.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland and the Kol Israel Foundation’s Yom Hashoah commemoration embodied special significance on May 5.
