Over the years, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland has accumulated an extensive Israeli and Jewish art collection. And thanks to our recent Cleveland Israel Arts Connection intern, Cory Irwin, we are able to learn the stories behind each piece. During his six month internship, Cory cataloged the art collection and researched the history of each piece.

The Musical Theatre Project – which documents and celebrates the history of the American musical theater art form through Cleveland-area concerts and cabaret performances – will be telling the story behind the Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical “Milk and Honey.”

There is no greater mitzvah (good deed) than caring for those who came before us. Volunteers are needed for the Annual Spring Cemetery Cleanup hosted by the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Jewish Volunteer Network and the Commission on Cemetery Preservation (COCP). The event will take place on Sunday, April 29 from 9:30 – 11:30 am at Chesed Shel Emeth (3740 Ridge Road, Cleveland), also known as Ridge Rd. #1.

An estimated 770 Holocaust survivors live in the Cleveland area. Our community will honor these survivors and remember those who perished during the Holocaust at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland and Kol Israel Foundation’s Yom Hashoah V’Hagvurah. Join us on Wednesday, April 11 at 7:00 pm at Park Synagogue Main, 3300 Mayfield Road in Cleveland Heights. This annual event is free and open to the community.

One of the missions of the Federation is to Leave No One Behind. That is the same message of Youth Opportunities Unlimited (Y.O.U.) – to help disadvantaged youth, born into poverty, develop the skills and abilities required to succeed in school and work so that they may realize their dreams and their potential and success at a job or entrepreneurship.
