The Cleveland Chesed Center, a kosher food bank in Cleveland Heights that looks more like a Costco than a food pantry and also offers clothes and furniture, came about after the Jewish Federation of Cleveland and community members saw a troubling statistic about poverty rates in the area. Now, after opening in March, the Chesed Center is preparing for its first Chanukah and reflecting on nine months in service.

took me several days, but I have recovered from all the excitement of co-chairing the 3rd Annual Cleveland Shabbos Project Challah Bake that took place at the Cleveland Convention Center on November 10. With nearly 1500 women in attendance, it was the largest Cleveland Challah Bake yet.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland announces the IMPACT! Volunteer Showcase, a highly anticipated volunteer fair for Jewish Cleveland adults ages 50 and over. The Showcase will feature more than 20 organizations seeking volunteers, making it easy for guests to identify a possible match for their interests. The Showcase takes place on Sunday, January 22 from 9:30 – 11:00 am at the Federation’s Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Building (25701 Science Park Drive in Beachwood).
