To remind the Greater Cleveland community that there are more than 120 innocent people still being held hostage by Hamas, the Federation is now running ads on Bally Sports Cleveland during the first round of the Cleveland Cavaliers playoffs and throughout the Cleveland Guardians regular season.

Over 500 people were greeted by the sight of red Anemone coronaria, Israel’s national flower, at the Yom Hazikaron commemoration on May 12.

Recently, jHUB has launched two new initiatives to address the growing demand for different opportunities for preteens to experience Jewish traditions and culture - the B-Mitzvah Experience and the Hebrew Club.

Jewish Cleveland hosted a special webinar on the current climate on campuses across the country, and how we can help fight the antisemitism students and faculty are facing today.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland will host its annual Yom Ha’atzmaut event – a free community celebration of Israel’s Independence Day – on Tuesday, May 14 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at B’nai Jeshurun Congregation (27501 Fairmount Blvd in Pepper Pike).

Like you, we have watched in disbelief as pro-Palestinian activism on college campuses across our country have rapidly become violent, anti-Jewish rallies – complete with direct threats and physical attacks on Jewish students, as well as destruction of property.

More than 1,000 community members came together for Ratzim Bishvilam (“Running For Them”) to honor the innocent people killed or kidnapped by Hamas on October 7, 2023. This marked six months since the attack on Israel.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland and area congregations will host programming in May to commemorate Yom Hashoah V’Hagvurah, Holocaust Remembrance Day; Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day; and Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day.
