The Jewish Federation of Cleveland announced that Mitchell Schneider is the 2022 recipient of the Gries Family Award in recognition of his lasting impact in Cleveland’s Jewish and general communities. For more than 25 years, the Gries Family Award has honored individuals who have demonstrated extensive top leadership in Federation and other local Jewish organization activities, as well as significant leadership in Greater Cleveland’s general community. Schneider, president of First Interstate Properties, Ltd., was presented the award at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland Board of Trustees meeting on September 28.

Beth Wain Brandon brings a personal and family history of involvement with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland and fundraising efforts as the chair of the Campaign for Jewish Needs in 2023 and 2024.

Daniel N. Zelman, who has been serving the Cleveland Jewish community in numerous roles for the last few decades, was named the next board chair of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland for the 2022 to 2025 term June 22.

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland announced today that Daniel N. Zelman has been named board chair for the 2022-2025 term. Zelman, 65, is the chief executive officer of Paro Services Corporation which owns businesses in the chemical manufacturing and janitorial services industries.

With decades of involvement focusing on the Jewish and wider community in Cleveland, Reneé Chelm was honored with the 2022 Charles Eisenman Award at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s 118th annual meeting June 9 at the Hebrew Academy of Cleveland in Cleveland Heights.

During this year's 118th Annual Meeting for the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, we honored outgoing Board Chair J. David Heller for three exemplary years of leadership to our Jewish Cleveland community!

The Jewish Federation of Cleveland announced that Sarah Zimmerman has been awarded the 2021 Bennett and Donna Yanowitz Leadership Award, which recognizes and honors an outstanding young individual who has demonstrated commitment, involvement, and leadership within Cleveland’s Jewish community. She received the award at the Federation’s Board of Trustees meeting on April 27.

Jewish Federation of Cleveland Board Chair J. David Heller, Federation President Erika B. Rudin-Luria, and Federation Board of Trustees Member Rebecca C. Heller traveled to the border of Poland and Ukraine. They partnered with the Jewish Federations of North America and our overseas agencies who are assisting refugees fleeing the devastation in their home country.
