Jenna is a participant with Onward Israel Cleveland, a program that allows 20-25 year olds to spend their summers living, working, and playing for 8 weeks in Tel Aviv. On Sunday, Cavs Coach David Blatt was scheduled to help chair a dinner for Israel Bonds, a brokerage firm that sells treasury bonds for the Israeli government.

Soldiers from the Israel Defense Forces uncovered similarities in their work with troubled youth during a visit to Bellefaire JCB in University Heights on April 24. The soldiers, who were visiting Cleveland for a week to participate in Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut ceremonies in the area, engaged in a professional exchange of ideas with Bellefaire employees and mental health professionals during their time at the facility.

I recently returned from a Mission to Cuba, traveling with a small cohort of Cleveland community members and the Federation.

A group of 20 Jewish young professionals and supervisors from St. Petersburg, Russia, visited Northeast Ohio last week to learn about the region’s Jewish community – and to take those lessons back home to help strengthen the Jewish community there.

No words can adequately describe the suffering of those who experienced the horrors of the Holocaust firsthand. And, no words can adequately describe the heartache felt by the hundreds of Cleveland community members who join together each year to listen to survivors tell their stories at Yom Hashoah V’Hagvurah, on Holocaust Remembrance Day. We created this video in partnership with Kol Israel Foundation to share the importance of Holocaust education. Today, children survivors are nearing the end of their lives and we won’t be able to hear their stories firsthand forever. Please watch and share as we say “Never Again.”
